LaPorte County Waste Generation
Ever wonder how our county compares to the rest of the state in waste generation? The color-coded graphics below provide indicate that in terms of landfill waste, LaPorte county falls in the middle of the scale, generating between 50,001 and 100,000 tons of landfill waste each year.
Unfortunately, landfill waste accounts for only a small portion of the solid waste our county generates. The graphic below indicates that in 2001, between 500,001 and 1,000,000 tons of solid waste from the county were incinerated. This makes us one of the highest producers of incinerated waste in the state!
